Validity and reliability of Mini-Mental State Examination in Older Adults in China: Inline Mini-Mental State Examination with cognitive functions

چکیده
The main aim of the study is to validate factor structure Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) China’s older population using Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey. validation process used exploratory analysis (EFA) determine number dimensions MMSE, confirmatory (CFA) confirm factorial and invariance conclude does not differ between young-old (aged 65 – 79) old-old 80 or older). results EFAs suggested two possible structures: A six-factor a seven-factor solution. model turned out as best fit by comparison four competing models. Strict was attained for age groups, indicating high level measurement equality, property seldom achieved in literature studies. In MMSE that focused solely on EFA aims establish single summated score, present suggests EFA, CFA, takes into consideration errors preferred procedure since it establishes appropriate dimensionality line with their respective cognitive functions.

Cognitive Impairment in Patients with Coronary Artery Disease; Comparison of Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) and Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE)
Background & Objective: Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is a transient state between normal condition and dementia. Available data indicates that coronary artery diseases (CAD) may increase the risk of MCI. Hence, the early detection of MCI can prevent the progression of cognitive decline. Materials & Methods: A sample of 65 subjects with degrees of CAD was enrolled to the study. For cogniti...

The Mini-Mental State examination has been found to be a quick and valuable test for simple bedside screening, and for serial assessment of cognitive function in a population of 126 neurological patients. Amongst those with cognitive impairment, there was a close relation between the Mini-Mental State examination and the conventional Weschler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS). However, the Mini-M...

WHY: Cognitive impairment is no longer considered a normal and inevitable change of aging. Although older adults are at higher risk than the rest of the population, changes in cognitive function often call for prompt and aggressive action. In older patients, cognitive functioning is especially likely to decline during illness or injury. The nurses' assessment of an older adult's cognitive statu...
متن کاملThe Modified Mini-Mental State (3MS) examination.
The Mini-Mental State (MMS) examination is a widely used screening test for dementia. The Modified Mini-Mental State (3MS) incorporates four added test items, more graded scoring, and some other minor changes. These modifications are designed to sample a broader variety of cognitive functions, cover a wider range of difficulty levels, and enhance the reliability and the validity of the scores. ...
